NEW MASERATI SHOWROOM OPENS IN ANTALYA

Maserati’s fourth showroom opened for business in Antalya. Venturing into the Mediterranean region for the first time with Birmot, a subsidiary of Otokoç Otomotiv, the showroom provides sales and after-sales services in a fully-equipped modern facility.

2018 SERVICE AWARD WINNERS HONORED

Tofaş employees completing their 10th, 20th, 25th, and 30th years of service at the company and in the Koç Group were honored at a ceremony conducted this month.

DOBLÒ EXPORTS TO NORTH AMERICA APPROACH 60 THOUSAND

Having been developed at Tofaş and introduced to the North American market under the “ProMaster City” name for the first time in 2015, exports of Fiat Doblò to this market reached 56,199 units in just three years’ time.

FIAT EGEA/TIPO S-DESIGN AT THE GENEVA FAIR

The Tipo S-Design, the sportiest member of the Egea family, which is sold in the European market under the “Tipo” name, was shown off at the International Geneva Motor Show.  

MOTORSPORTS ACTIVITIES

The Egea dealer motorsport events that Fiat launched in 2017 with the track version of the Egea Sedan continued in 2018. The ten events that were conducted this year were attended by more than a thousand entrants.

FIAT DEALERS’ MEETING HELD

Fiat Dealers Meeting was held in İstanbul and was attended by Fiat dealers and representatives from all over the country. During the meeting, performance awards were handed out to their recipients.

FIAT AT THE ANTALYA AUTOSHOW

Fiat attended the Antalya Autoshow with the Egea Hatchback and Egea Station Wagon as well as with examples of every member of the Fiat 500 family. Fiat’s light commercial vehicle product line was represented by Doblò, Fiorino, and Fullback models.

NEW, MORE POWERFUL DOBLÒ GOES ON SALE

New Fiat Doblò powered by a 1.6 liter turbo-feed diesel Multijet engine conforming to Euro 6 norms went on sale in March.

DRIVER-FRIENDLY FIAT CONNECT- GO ON SALE

Fiat Connect connectivity technology, a digital platform which makes it easier for Fiat owners to interact with their vehicles and which was developed in collaboration with many company units as well as external startups, went on sale.

FIAT STAR DEALERSHIP AWARDS

2017 Fiat Star Dealership of the year awards were handed out to their recipients. Fiat Özakıncı Otomotiv, Bozüyük Otomotiv, and Gürses Oto respectively received “Gold”, “Silver”, and “Bronze” star dealership honors recognizing their successful performance in 2017.

SUPPLIER MEETING AND AWARD CEREMONY

A meeting and award ceremony for Fiat suppliers was held in Bursa. Awards in eight separate categories were handed out to fifteen suppliers in recognition of their successful efforts.

FLEET SALES DELIVERIES TO PTT

A fleet of 1,507 Fiat Doblò and Fiorino vehicles made at Tofaş was delivered to Posta ve Telgraf Teşkilatı A.Ş. (PTT), Turkey’s privatized telecommunications company.

100,000TH EGEA SOLD IN TURKEY

Sales of Fiat Egea passed the 100 thousand mark in Turkey. Delivered by Ankara-based Kartaş Otomotiv, the 100,000th Egea was a sedan-body version.

JUNE

NEW DOBLÒ UPGRADED TO “PREMIO PLUS”

A version of Doblò, a member of the Fiat Professional family made at Tofaş, was put on the market after being upgraded to the “Premio Plus” level.

FIAT 500C COLLEZIONE IN TURKEY

Taking Fiat 500 stylishness up several notches, the line’s “500C Collezione”, “Primavera”, and “Acquamarina” models went on sale in Turkey.

JULY

TOFAŞ CELEBRATES ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Tofaş celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding at a gathering hosted by Koç Holding and Tofaş Chairman Ömer M. Koç. The event was attended by FCA Chairman John Elkann, Tofaş Board Member and FCA EMEA Chairman Alfredo Altavilla, Koç Holding Honorary President Rahmi M. Koç, Koç Holding CEO Levent Çakıroğlu, Koç Holding Automotives Group President Cenk Çimen, and Tofaş CEO Cengiz Eroldu as well as by senior members of Koç Group and Tofaş management and by Tofaş dealers and suppliers.  

SERGIO MARCHIONNE PASSES AWAY

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne passed away. One of the most important contributors to the institutionalization of the world’s automotives industry, Marchionne had been vice president of the Tofaş Board of Directors since 2005 and played a major role in the company’s success. Upon his death, the position of FCA CEO that had been held by Marchionne was taken over by Michael Manley while Pietro Gorlier was appointed to serve as Tofaş Board of Directors vice president.

Located at www.tofas.com.tr, Tofaş’s corporate website was given an overhaul on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary.

EGEA YOUTH CUP GETS UNDER WAY

The first leg of the Egea Youth Cup, organized to give talented young members of the Fiat Motor Sports Team an entry into the world of motors sports, was held in İzmir and attracted great interest on the part of motorsport fans.

TOFAŞ’S FIRST INTERACTIVE SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PUBLISHED

As the very first automotive manufacturer in Turkey to publish a sustainability report, Tofaş issued its fifth in 2018. Moreover the 2018 TOFAŞ sustainability report was published in an interactive format that makes it possible, among other things, for the company’s annual performance figures to be examined and compared.

TOFAŞ EMPLOYEES CELEBRATE THE COMPANY’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

A concert given at the Bursa plant to mark the 50th anniversary of Tofaş’s founding was attended by all company employees and their families.

PLOUTONION SACRED PRECINCT AND STATUE OF HADES OPEN TO VISITORS

Tofaş has been sponsoring archaeological digs at the site of ancient Hierapolis in southwestern Turkey since 2005. For the last two years it has been supporting the excavation and restoration of the Ploutonion sacred precinct and a replica of the ancient sculpture of Hades, both of which opened to visitors this month.

OCTOBER

EXPORTS REACH 3 MILLION VEHICLES

In its 50th year, Tofaş’s exports reached 3 million vehicles, nearly half of which (1,475 thousand units) consisted of Fiat Doblò models. The runner-up in Tofaş’s October 2018 export performance was Fiat Fiorino, of which 830 thousand units were shipped abroad. In third place at 334 thousand units was Fiat Egea, which first went on sale in late 2015.

TOFAŞ’S CORPORATE GOVERNANCE RATING RAISED TO 9.20

As a result of an audit carried out by SAHA A.Ş., a corporate governance and credit rating service, Tofaş’s 2017 corporate governance rating was raised to 9.20.

Drawing attention with its state-of-the-art high-tech equipment, unique color options, and model-specific accessories, Fiat Egea family’s Mirror series was introduced.
